Shutout Pushes Vibes into Longest Losing Streak of 2025 at Four-Game Skid
The Rocky Mountain Vibes (21-17) came up empty in a 6-0 loss to the Oakland Ballers (29-10) before a fireworks show on Thursday night.
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The Rocky Mountain Vibes (21-17) came up empty in a 6-0 loss to the Oakland Ballers (29-10) before a fireworks show on Thursday night.
Despite a solid pitching performance that forced four double-plays, the Vibes bats could not reciprocate, recording just six hits, the fourth-lowest total of the season. Only once did an RMV base-runner advance past second base in the loss. Only catcher Austin Chouinard entered the hit column more than once with a pair of singles.
On the mound, left-hander Nick Powers impressed in an undeserved loss, allowing four runs on 10 hits across 6.1 innings, walking and striking out one. Righty Trey Morrill pitched 1.1 innings out of the pen allowing one run on three hits with a strikeout. LHP Gabe White followed up with 0.1 frames, walking one. Reliever Cole Stallings made his Rocky Mountain debut in the ninth, letting up one unearned run with a hit, walk, and strikeout.
Patriotic festivities continue for Independence Day on Friday with another night of fireworks following the game. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. between Oakland RHP Noah Millikan and Rocky Mountain RHP Malik Binns. Coverage on Flo Baseball begins at 6:15 p.m. with the Rocky Mountain Pre-Game Report.
